Engendering Spirit
Engendering Spirit is an education series created by Dr. Sherry Warren, the UCC's Minister for Women’s and Gender Justice, that addresses contemporary topics that affect people because of their gender.
Each video is about one hour long and is designed to be used in groups or as individuals. The episodes are accompanied by a short study guide to help viewers discuss or contemplate what they have experienced in the video, as well as some links to resources that provide context and continue the learning.
Meet Your Facilitator:
Dr. Sherry Warren joined the United Church of Christ’s National Ministries Justice and Local Church ministries team in July 2022. In her role as Minister of Women’s and Gender Justice, she gives her attention to creating resources for and informing UCC folks about current concerns that affect people because of their gender. She works alongside her colleagues in Gender and Sexuality Justice Ministries to focus on issues involving reproductive justice, bodily autonomy, human sexuality and gender identity, and contemporary topics that affect us all but more often women and girls such as period poverty and normalizing menstruation, body acceptance, gender-based violence, caregiving and parenting, and pushing back against patriarchal norms. She resides in Akron, Ohio with her husband Josh, where she gardens, sews ministerial stoles, makes pickles, and plays with her dogs.
